Kitting Services
Customised kits tailored to procurement and production needs. UK customers benefit from IPR authorisation for tax-free imports.
RTA designs and delivers customised kitting solutions that match your operations’ sequence and production schedule. Each kit contains pre-inspected, lot traceable components ready for immediate line-side deployment, eliminating incoming inspection delays.
Our kitting service integrates with our sourcing, machining, and warehousing capabilities to provide a single-source solution. UK-based customers benefit from our IPR authorisation, enabling tax-free import of components for kitting and re-export.

What we deliver
Custom kit design
Kits configured to match your exact assembly sequence, with component positioning designed for ergonomic workflow.
Pre-inspection
Every component is inspected and verified before inclusion in the kit, eliminating line-side rejection.
FOD-controlled packaging
RTA work with customers where reusable packaging can be deployed, reducing FOD risk, and contributing to customer sustainability goals.
IPR authorisation
Kitting can qualify for duty and tax relief under IPR.
Full lot traceability
Full kit-level and component-level traceability linked to your operational build reference.
Kanban replenishment
Automated replenishment triggers based on consumption data and production schedules.
Additional items
RTA can provide on-site stores to cater for unforeseen shortages (BoM errors, damaged items, or consumables) with monthly billing to keep production moving. Regular reporting provides valuable data for customer improvement activities.
How it works
Kit configuration
We work with your engineering team to design kit contents, packaging, and labelling to match your assembly process.
Component sourcing & inspection
All components are sourced, received, and individually inspected before kitting to eliminate line-side quality issues.
Kit assembly
Components are scanned into kits to preserve full batch traceability. Items can be drawn from stock, received orders, stored SMI/CMI products, or our assembly services.
Verification
First-off kits are subject to first article inspection (FAI) and are supplied with AS9102 compliant documentation. All subsequent kits are audited against associated BoMs, signed off and released with full documentation.
Delivery & replenishment
Kits are delivered to your goods receiving location or direct to point of use by agreement. Line-side stock replenishment can be pulled by kanban triggers for automatic replenishment.
Additional items
Authorised personnel can obtain additional or replacement items from RTA stock against blanket purchase orders. Usage is billed monthly, along with a report that customers can analyse to understand causes.
Quality & compliance
Our kitting operations maintain the highest standards of traceability and FOD control.
